Music History for ages 9-adult. Pre-Baroque and Baorque composers such as Vivaldi and J.S. Bach, with many examples of their works which can be viewed on the Internet.

Vivaldi, the red-headed monk who flooded the Italian Renaissance with music, is studied, and several of his works (on film) are watched and heard on the Internet.

J.S. Bach is perhaps the greatest composer in history. His life is examined, and then many of his works, performed by some of the greatest musicians of the 20th century, are viewed. Hours of the most glorious music await!

Handel was a contemporary of Bach's, perhaps the greatest. His Messiah may be the most performed of all classical works. His life and works are studied.

Mendelssohn, a masterful composer in his own right, also rediscovered the music of Bach that had been largely forgotten, A genius from a young age, he wrote his famed "Wedding March", played at nearly every wedding in the west, when he was 16 years old.

The study of each composer. including several not mentioned here which composed music before Vivaldi and Bach, illuminated with carefully researched filmed examples of musicians playing their great works. Great and interesting performances provide the student a tangible sense not only of dozens of hours of the greatest music ever composed, but also of what it takes to perform these works.
