China and India are two countries with very long histories. The ancient home to our oldest religions and many of our ideas of governance, it is not possible to understand the world today without a firm grounding in the history of these two great nations. Today they have the two largest populations in the world, and are lands of great interest. How did they become the powerful and fascinating countries they are?
Each section starts with a description of the land itself. Then, the history of its people follows, highlighting great leaders and new religions such as Taoism, Confucius, Buddha, Ashoka and Hinduism. The arts of each country are experienced by the student, and the student's own artistic interests are challenged. A great introduction to two of the most important nations on Earth, both in history and today.
